Married couples have defined their relationship clearly when they took vows. This section is supposed to be to help those whom are experiencing difficulties in their marital relationships or divorced ones.
Living together,having children out of marriage, dating without commitment, promiscuity is not ?married?. The legal aspects,entitlements, obligations, and responsibilities both personal and financial are different than for those who are single and dating no matter how long they have been together.
Single is not married. A break up is not a divorce.

Thus far I have thoroughly appreciated all of your input and surprisingly agree with a couple of differing views. I have worked diligently and with much effort to have a successful marriage. To equate any relationship with one that has proven itself visa vie making the actual commitment that is allows both mates equitable and legal rights & responsibilities is far beyond merely the signing of a document. That document entitles myself to have consideration regarding emergency health issues, assets, etc?
To say that living together is the same as marriage is like saying babysitting is the same as raising a child. A parent equally has far more responsibility and accountability for the welfare of said child. This is not elitist. This is not a popular point of view. It is however the truth. Marriage of any length of time is a serious commitment that demonstrates that commitment. Failing to do the little thing falls a ?little? short of marriage. Best answer:
