NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - If you?d like to test your fitness and especially your endurance, you might want to take part in the Men?s Health Urbanathlon coming up this Saturday, October 27, in Flushing Meadows, Queens.
Publisher Ronan Gardiner spoke with WCBS 880?s Pat Farnack about the event, which includes leaping over taxi cabs.
?I think jumping taxi cabs is everybody?s favorite part of the event. The Urbanathlon is basically a nine and a half mile endurance race incoroporating about ten obstacles as challenges within the race itself and one of those obstacles, of course, is jumping over the iconic yellow taxi cabs,? Gardiner told Farnack.

There is also running up stairs.
?Two sets of stairs,? Gardiner said. ?We?re gonna have people run the bleachers in both Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, of course, as well as Arthur Ashe Stadium, home of the US Open,? he said. ?There are marine hurdles, which are five-feet-high hurdles, monkey bars, which are nothing like as easy as they used to be when we were kids. I can tell you that. We have a couple of city buses with cargo nets strung up on either side of them to clambor over.?
You can still sign up for the event online or at the REI story in the Puck Building on the corner of Houston Street and Lafayette Street in Manhattan.
What kind of obstacles would you like to see in a race like this? Sound off below.
